Maribel Garza is a Legal Assistant at Atwal & Company. She brings ten years of experience working at personal injury law firms. Maribel is bilingual in English and Spanish, she is an active member of the Sacramento Legal Secretaries Association and has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

At Atwal & Company, Maribel assists with immigration and personal injury cases. She is excited about the opportunity to assist the firm in multiple aspects, including assisting Spanish-speaking clients. She currently is learning to speak Farsi and would like to assist Farsi-speaking clients in the near future.

Maribel is not only excited about learning more on immigration but can also relate to our immigration clients on a personal level. She knows of the difficult journey a family goes through when a family member is deported. Maribel’s parents were both immigrants who arrived from Mexico and later became U.S. citizens; she also understands the high stress an individual goes through during deportation proceedings since her husband faced the same problem.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, documentaries, and spending time with family.
