Mr. Jesse S. Atwal grew up in Tracy, California on his family’s alfalfa farm. He grew up witnessing firsthand the value of hard work and determination. His family then moved to Merced to diversify their agricultural opportunities to farm almonds and peaches. It is through these experiences on the farm, that he learned the importance of hard work and could sympathize with their migrant employees’ everyday struggles.
Mr. Atwal decided to pursue his education at the University of California, Davis because of its history as an agricultural university. He then decided to pursue a law degree to gain the knowledge and expertise to advocate for people from all walks of life whether it be sophisticated business owners or newly arrived migrants. Immediately after graduation from law school, he started working for various law firms that specialized in civil litigation, personal injury, land use planning, and immigration law to gain a wide range of legal experience.
After passing the bar exam, Mr. Atwal worked for eight years at a full service law firm acquiring valuable trial experience in civil litigation and personal injury cases. Keeping in mind that his family also migrated to this country for a better life, representing immigrants was a natural fit for him. Based on tireless advocacy for his clients, he single-handedly grew his former law firm’s immigration practice to be one of the most successful immigration law practices in the Sacramento area.
Mr. Atwal also has the privilege of representing seriously injured clients throughout the entire spectrum of personal injury litigation. Throughout his legal career he has obtained several large settlements on behalf of injured clients. Over the years, Mr. Atwal has helped his clients, in every imaginable context, in cases such as Wrongful Death, Vehicle Accidents, Brain Injuries, Animal Bites, Slip and Fall accidents, Premises Liability, and Burn Injuries.
While working as a busy attorney, Mr. Atwal still manages his almond orchards and real estate development holdings. In his spare time, he enjoys running half marathons and going to U.C. Davis sporting events with his lovely wife, Dr. Amy Atwal and their two children.
